Converting a normal 7" reel to reel into a multitrack recorder

The title says it all, I was basically wondering if there was any trick you can use to convert a normal, 2 track reel to reel (4 tracks total, 2 per tape side) into a multitrack recorder. I have an Akai 266-D reel to reel, and I wanted to play around with all four tracks at once. is this possible? or do i risk ruining the machine?

on the one hand all it requires is different head stacks and extra channels of record and repro electronics... but since they were never manufactured (i'm guessing) it is a consumer machine right??? then you'll have to eother make them yourself... or pay someone to make them for you... $50k should cover it....

Yea like he said. It would be easier to sell what you have and find a good 4 track machine like a tascam 34 34b or another machine alot of people overlook is the 22-4. Its a great machine and can be had pretty cheap.
