Question

I have the basic porta 02.I use
Windows'98 on a compaq pressario with the basic sound card. Can someone advise me on some shareware , freeware or an inexpensive software package that will allow me to record from the analog to digital. I've tried N-track demo without luck. I like the mixdowns I have and just want to make files for future burning or to use on my page .Thanks.....

Thanks Vurt !

Although I probably shouldn't have posted a newbie question in this forum, I'm glad I did. Thanks very much for the info ! I am now slinging tape like a pro (doh!) and inserting and bouncing audio left and right to end up with some nice recordings including some with surrogate audiences. I do have one more question though if you don't mind too much. How do I get my WAV files under 16MB in order to send them elsewhere ? Is MP3 format best for this? Can ou explain? If not, no problem. Thanks again.....See ya!

Do you mean to send via email or to upload to a web page? If so, then yeah, mp3 is probably the best way. I don't know if goldwave encodes to mp3, but if not, check out AudioCatalyst and Mixman. I think there are many others, but I don't know what they are...
