Lafayette RK-600a ? 2 track reel to reel tube tape recorder?

I was sitting in "The cave" putting my Tascam M520 back together and the drummer in my band brings home this find from goodwill.

Lafayette Model Rk 600a

I opened it up and there are Tubes in it. There is 12au7 and a few others.

Anyone know anything about these machines?

On the back it says Quality Control by "lafayette?" 2/1/1965

Its in almost perfect condition on the outside and super clean on the inside.

Im afraid to plug it in and push a button.

I just measured the tape width and its 1/4 inch

What is this machine??!!??!!

Lafayette was a "Radio Shack" type of operation. Consumer grade stuff at best. they were totally gone by the early 80's.
