What is this guitar?

I've seen this same type of guitar played by a local guy "Charlie Par." I'm just curious as to what it actually is. I've looked at the brand before at a show, but can't remember. So I figure you guys would probably have a good idea

Hmmm. Looks like a National Style 0. Single cone with f-holes.

Thats a metal bodied resonator guitar-looks like it's a single cone model. I use a wood bodied Regal for a lot of my acoustic bands guitar-the resonator projects well over fiddle, banjo and Upright bass live.

Click on the link and there is a dobro similar to the one in the video close to the bottom of the page-it has the same 'F' holes above the resonator cone ....

Yeah, that second one looks pretty much like it. Cool. Nice and cheap

Looks like a National Duolian. Definitely not a style O or N.

Yes, it's a National, but not the only reason it sounds like that. He's got it in an alternate tuning which (to my ear) sounds like it has a couple strings in "unison," but out by about a quarter of a step. I've got a friend who used to do that a lot with her electric, and her (now) husband Glen Branca is the master of it - though their stuff is more, ah, art music than Bon Iver's. (Both are great, but Glen and Reg's stuff is much more, let's say, challenging to listen to.)

Definitely a National. If it's an older one (and it looks like it may be) I agree it looks like a Duolian. Personally I get confused by the plethora of newer models and especially with the different finishes. Any chance it's a Delphi? I'll admit to not knowing that much about resonators -- aside from the fact that I want a tricone

Hey Horsedoc, where are you on the Big Island? I'm originally from Hilo.

Yeah, if it's a newer one it could be a couple of different models - hard to tell the nature of the finish in the photos.

Cool, I was guessing Kamuela or Pahoa. We still have a timeshare in Kona and get out there every spring. Otherwise, I'm up here on the tundra in Minnesota

Yeah, I know he has it in an alternate tuning. It's like cgegcc. It's a fun one to play, especially to sing.
But yeah. Just curious on the guitar.
