Unhappy Midi Keyboard Causes Bsod

Hello,

Currently, using windows XP, I installed FL Studio8 and everything's been working fine.

I finally had time to hook up my MIDI keyboard yesterday and it worked great with FL Studio.

I rebooted my laptop today and received a BSOD that read:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

WIN32K.SYS
NDIS.SYS

I have looked for some answers to my problem and it seems the midi keyboard probably caused a driver issue. At one point, I was able to reboot normally but as Windows started, the screen went BSOD.

I can start in safe mood and access my files so I am pretty sure it's not FL Studio. Any suggestions?? Bear with me since I am at work and my lap top is not here. I will fix it ASAP when I get home this afternoon.

Thanks again,
Buff

Did you install a driver for the keyboard, e.g. a USB-MIDI adapter? If so, boot to safe-mode and uninstall it to see if your machine will run. If so, look for newer drivers. It could be that other drivers on the system need to be updated too, such and sound, video, network, etc.

NDIS.sys is for the network and shouldn't have anything to do with a midi device. You might try updating the network adapter driver first.

If you didn't install anything in order to connect your keyboard, i.e. you used an existing MIDI port that had already been installed, this might just be a coincdence. Again, I would start by updating the network driver and the driver for the audio interface and/or MIDI adapter.

You might want to reseat the adapters and the RAM also. A bad connection to hardware can make drivers unhappy and unstable.
