Sticky Tape

Hello All:

I am interested in documenting the effects that a sticky tape has on a machine - the residue left behind, etc. However, I do not have any sticky tape currently in my possession. Is there anyone who would be willing to send a known sticky tape to me for playback at a local recording studio? I'll be working with a gentleman who knows what he's in for - this is a planned experiment with the sticky tape. I can return the item to you once we're finished if you so desire.

Please contact me off list with any leads or offers on the tape.

Thanks!
Tracy

If played long enough, a tape with sticky-shed can ruin a head stack. Are you and your friendly studio operator prepared for that? The problems and effects are well documented. Why not just look them up instead of putting someones gear at risk?

I've shot this video yesterday to show what's happen with a sticky tape:

Go to YouTube and type "vuQCEOU8MuI"

Imagine that you put glue over your tape. Pretty similar.

And after you've copied the program recorded on the tape (backing it first) and you want to keep the reel, this is the method that I use:

Go to YouTube and type "oVdB5nvcRMg"

And direct to the garbage I've done it more times that I'd have desired
