de-esser?
what are you guys using for de-essers? i need to buy a unit. something inexpensive (for vocals).
also is it best to track with the de-esser, or to apply it during the mix after recording the vocals? also i track vocals using the RNC compressor. |

Hm...
If I were you I'd track without. My 2p. I've heard so many good things about the FMR RNC, and stuff I've heard it used on sounds great. It has a sidechain right? If that's the case I'd just get a good quality graphic eq and connect it to the sidechain of one of the channels. I'm using an ART TCS...it has a de-essing preset basically. I haven't used it much but I was happy with it. Haven't done anything with it with analog tracking though. I do "print" with the de-esser when tracking to digital. Hope that helps. |
