It's kinda hard to describe. It's not "synthy" like the triton but it's not weighted either. From what I understand the SP76 uses rubber band type devices to generate the resistance for the keyboard. I'm a piano player and it didn't really bother me that much. It's kind of a cross between weighted and synth. It's definitely better than the cheaper synths but not as good as the weighted. Hope I answered your question.
