getrythm is on a distinguished road
Just bought a used 488 mkII (hopefully a step up from my beloved 414 mkII). I have a couple of questions.
1. Is there any way to get more than 2 discrete outputs for mixdown to another device?
2. Are there any problems peculiar to the 488 mkII that I should be aware of?
3. Is there any way to synch both decks?
4. Haven't used the 488 yet, but the 40-14k dynamic range looks a little limited. Will this be a problem in real life (I record a lot of acoustic instruments) and, if so, does anyone have any ideas on how to overcome this.
Thanks in advance.

1. Well, you could use the AUX sends, but why?
3. Nope, AFAIK none of the can be slaves.
4. It's not very limiting, and to get rid of that limit you need to get rid of casettes, basically.
