vsLogic software for vs1880

I want to connect my vs1880 to my laptop and use the vslogic sequencer software.I dont have midi connections on my laptop.I bought the Roland midi-usb interface device and loaded the driver and it works fine for my J-station with Cake Walk,but I cant get it to work with the 1880.The vslogic software is for a 1680 but the "tech" at Mars said it is supposed to work.Please help.


Also, does anyone know if the vslogic sequencer software is capable of creating samples like keyboard music?I noticed it has a keyboard window and a menu with all kinds of sound descriptions.
