New Help on a Project
For a new project I'm working on right now the vocalist of the band that I have coming in is looking for what he pretty much described to be the most colored, warm sound possible. I'm set for mic's right now so I'm probably looking for a nice tube preamp with a lot of coloration and an interesting character. Don't really wanna spend more than 200 bucks unless its a preamp thats worth using in many applications.
PLEASE HELP! ![]() Thanks -Barrett |

There really isn't anything in a nice tube preamp for less than $200. Closest you might get is a used ART MPA Gold. Possibly an Electroharmonix 12ay7 preamp. I've not used or heard the EH, but others here may be able to comment. Otherwise, you will need to spend substantially more money to get anything decent.
