Mbox 2 pro S/Pdif @ 48khz?
I just bought myself an Mbox2 Pro (yeay). Anyways, If i'm understanding things correctly, when I use the S/PDif inputs I only have the option of recording at 48khz and not 92khz. Is this a true statement? I read it in a sound On sound review but it confused me
thank you guys |

Thanks guys. Maybe I have it confused with the external word clock. I'll have to do some research!

You'd need music production toolkit to record at 96 anyways.

No you don't - LE can handle sample frequencies up 96Khz.

spdif, as a format, is capable of up to 192k, however, the LE interfaces (mbox 2 pro, 002, 003) limit protools le to 96k max. the music production toolkit expands track count, not sample rate...

I don't know about that particular unit but I know protools can go up to 96khz

Pro Tools LE will go up to 96kHz but only with an Mbox 2 Pro or a 003. Otherwise it will be limited to 48kHz.
There is no reason the session should be capped at 48kHz when you use S/PDIF at 96kHz. Which Sound on Sound issue was this review in? |

I'm not sure which issue. I read an on line review. I'll try to find the link for you
