uad-1 for mastering?

I know that none of the comps or eq's I have are fit for mastering. Is the uad-1? I'm not looking to achieve professional studio results, but I do feel the need to sort of 'unify' or 'complete' a song, post-mix. I don't like the plugs that came with protools 6.4 le for this purpose, though they have their place on some individual tracks, and I could say the same about all of my outboard gear. So, opinions? Anyone use uad-1 for this?

It has just about all you would need for the job; EQ, compression, etc.

From there, it all pretty much depends on how you use it and what you're expecting it to do.

From what you described above the UAD-1 would serve your needs. Besides their compressors, EQ, etc. they have a mastering plugs as well (Precision Series).

I have / use UAD plugs somewhat more than just occasionally... Not nearly as much as I used to, but they're some fine plugs.

Thanks all. It sounds like a good solution for someone who will not be able to afford mastering-worthy outboard gear anytime soon.
