advice on effects pedal

I am looking for an inexpensive (sub-$50 I'm thinking) effects pedal. I play an accoustic-electric through a bass amp and an looking for something with basic effects. As I look online it seems they are all distortion or all reverb. Is there something more well-rounded? thanks-

You are going to have a hard time finding a multi-effects processor for under $50. That's pretty cheap for a pedal that just does one thing, much less a floor-board that does a little of everything.

You are going to have to figure out what effects you need and get a really cheap pedal for each effect or save up some money and get a multi-effects board.

thanks - so how much would i need to spend then? I was thinking cheap as the quality of the sound would not be that important. However i do want something with many different sounds. if i had to spend a couple hundred that may be fine as well. Price? brand? thanks again.

Check out the Digitech RP series. They're on the lower end of the cost spectrum but they're capable of some very respectable effects. They do include distortion but they have all of the other basic effects you'd want as well. At least one of the higher end RP units has an expression pedal built in as well.
