SPD-S help!

hey,
i recently bought an Spd-S from my friend and all that came with it is the power cord.
he gave me some cds with loops for acid,
but how do i get samples from acid onto the spds?
do i need to install acid too?
or can i access the loops by exploring the cd and dragging them out?
where do i go from here?
