Getting Started

I am getting my studio started. I need to know the basics. I am going to use a recording software (not sure which yet, any suggestions?) I also need to know computer requirements, or at least what is the best way to go? Any sort of recommended items (speaker moniters, audio interface, preamps, mics..that sort of thing)

For what?Well, I'd submit they need 120 volts. And a way to view whats happening, like say a monitor. Oh yea, and an input device such as a keyboard. Yes, that would be nice. Oh, and how bout a mouse? That would make it even easier. Cool. Oh, what did you have in mind for storage? Or an operating system?

Yes, I recommend monitors, although I've never heard of "speaker" monitors. Is that something new? And yes, something that would somehow connect the recording device to a mic, like an audio interface. That would be handy. Yes it would. And yes, mics, maybe an amp, and about a thousand other things too. Cables would be nice. So would a room. How bout some musicians. Maybe throw in a headphone cue system. Or even a room treatment or two. Hey, lets go all out and recommend a floating floor and a vocal booth. What the hell

Bust212, you probably gotta give more specifics, like what kind of music, budget. Google all those questions and you'll find options. No one's gonna Design your home studio for you just because you posted in homerecording.com
