Nico style cheap shockmount!

Since in my country there are no shockmounts available for my Audio Technica AT2020 condenser mic, I decided to make one myself.

It came out cheap, and very sturdy.

I'll let the pics do the talking.

Cheers!

Doesn't look cheap - looks good.
I made a shock mount for a litle mic using PVC pipe & big fat rubber bands - now that looks cheap (works though).
Well done!

Very nicely done! I commend your ingenuity. Necessity is truly the mother of invention.

Thanks for all the comments guys, really appreciate them

I can't take credit for something that's not mine, I took this design from a guy named Tim O'Brien, and changed it a bit to suit my mic.

Basically I used these materials:

1 4" PVC cap
8 small eyelets
- braided nylon fishing line
8 small drywall screws
1 mic clip base
4 aluminum (or some alloy) strips. I took these from the back of an old PC casing I had lying around.
1 1/2" piece of 2" PVC piping
1 1/2" piece of 1 1/2" PVC piping

Here's a link to Tim's webpage so you can see basically how I did it (with a twist of course) http://home.hiwaay.net/~tjobrien/shockmount.html

So kudos to Tim

Thanks again guys!

Cheers!
