Lynx Aurora 16 Firewire Questions
Good morning everyone,
Does anyone use the Lynx Aurora 8 or 16 via Firewire as their only interface in a completely mixerless setup? What are your solutions to monitoring? I'd like to get some perspectives on summing boxes vs. sending stereo-sends from the tracks in your DAW to the DA's on your converter. Does a summing box add something extra to stereo imaging (that 3d thing) or can I get the same results just monitoring through the DA on the Aurora? Thanks |

I have an standard Aurora 8 (not fire wire) and monitor through the DA to a Coleman Audio M3PH MKII. That was one of the issues with switching to the Lynx from a lowly Aardvark Q10 which had dedicated and convenient monitoring outs. Never used a summing box so I can't comment on those. My set up seems to work fine for two sets of monitors (NHTPro A-10/sub actives and Avantone Mixcube passives powered by an Ashley SRA-120 amp). I briefly owned a Presonus Central Station which also worked pretty well, but upgraded to the Coleman when I found a used one available.
