New Song/ La Brisa

Haven't posted any songs in the clinic for quite a while. I just finished this one up today. I might go back and make a few changes as there are some things I think need a little fixing. All comments are welcome... Thanks for listening.

Cheers,

The drums are a little loud & bright for the guitar and vocals to cope with.
Once the bongos (?) come in a think you could drop the hats and just run the rmi shots and even then halve the rate.
Nice guitar tone/playing.
The vocals work well at their current level.
I think the bass tone is good but it seems to be battling the drums for space.
The beginning of the last vocal phrase is a little weak - it either needs a bit more vol, a fade in or a definitive drop edit.
Nice song, gentle melody and guitar but there's some tension with the percussion as mentioned.
I look forward to your remix.

I really like the songwriting in this... the progression and melody go well together. I like the performance, not sure if it needs anything there. I thought the vocals could use a little fader riding. Fingerpicking is cool. Again, nice tune...

Hey Ray, exactly what I was hoping to get. Thanks for taking the time. Turning down the drums is easy to do. With my monitors, I never get a good sense of where the drums sit. I was hoping the bass and kick were emphasizing each other. Doesn't work, eh??

Not quite sure where you're talking about. Can you give a time?

Hey Gerry, thanks for the comment on the songwriting. This song has been stewing for a long time and then it just came out in a day.

Thanks guys!!!

Chilli, it's the 1st syllable of the very last line.
Sounds like you were either not quite ready to sing OR were doing a move to the mic vol thing but were too far away & rushed it. Just the 1st word mind.
Don't trust me on the bass & bass drum thing. I was listening with h/phones. It's just the impression I had. I'm not in a position to play this over the semi decent speakers hooked up to the amp hooked up to the comp (nap time in the house). Try a listen with the head phaones you most trust and it might be the same as me. then again H/phones aren't a great option either.

Beautiful song.

I don't know if you re-mixed it since Ray mentioned the drum volume, but it sounds fine to me now. Like Ido said, I don't think it needs anything more. The vocals can maybe stand a cut in the low end. You have a nice deep, full voice, so it takes up a lot of room even if it's not too "loud".

Great songwriting, Chil.

Hey Rami, you made my night. Thanks. I haven't remixed yet. My computer died today, looks like the power supply, dammit.

yeah, this song has a couple of low notes for me. I'll look into EQ'ing vox when I'm up and running again. These are the kind of comments I really need to hear.

Hey Rayc, that line was a cut and paste from the bridge /last chorus /whatchamacallit... I added it as an afterthought. I'll give it another look. Thanks much.

Cheers,
