Unhappy Help with 80-8 plus DX8

Who knows the proper way to hook up all of the cabling between the 80-8 and the DX8, and what to do with the plugs that will obviously be left not used!???? I need help!

I haven't seen this pair of units in a long time but as I recall, there is a control cable that goes between the 80-8 and the DX-8. Outputs from your console go to the dbx record inputs. dbx record outs go to the machine ins. machine outs go to dbx playback inputs. dbx play outs go to your console tape machine returns. There shouldn't be anything left over, assuming you intend to use all 8 tracks.

Console outs to dbx ins
encodes to 80-8 ins
decodes to 80-8 outs
dbx outs to console machine returns

I'm pretty certain about this but like I said, it's been a long time since using these units.
