7.4 m-powered rec mode

hey, ok i now have m-powered 7.4, i noticed something different from when i had m-powered 7.3

i would have lets say 3 or 4 tracks already recorded and i was going to get ready to record a 5th track, i would be able to "record inable" the track i want to record onto, and the (lets say guitar player) would be able to play along with the other 3 or 4 tracks So he could basically get a feel for the song and i could work on the EQ and stuff to get a good sound.

well in 7.4 i noticed that, i can't do that, just the other day i had a click going and i had the guitar player play along with the click to try and determine the click speed he wanted the song to be in. Well everytime i would "record inable" the track to record on and press the play button, the record inabled track would blink red, but no sound and you would just hear the click track. I think there is maybe a setting for this??

any idea's?

thanks!

It may be the "input monitoring" setting. I think "Alt+k" is the shortcut to toggle between the 2 settings, or just find it in the menu.

Exactly. You need to change that track from Auto-Input Monitoring to Input Only Monitoring. The quick key is alt+K or you can find the option under the "track menu" - make sure you have the correct track selected!

or opt-k on mac!

switches between auto input monitor and input only monitor

auto lets you hear input only while actually recording, and otherwise play what is already recorded on that track.

input only will let you hear the input regardless of whether recording or not, but it will not play regions already recorded on that track.
