Comb filtering from music stand?

Has anyone ever experienced this? I recorded an acoustic player last night who was using a solid metal music stand. Listening to the tracks today I think I am detecting some comb filtering, and at times a "boxy" sound to the guitar. Is my mind playing tricks on me, or is this possible?

Definitely. A heavy towel folded over thick helps cut the bulk of the reflection and you can try to minimize the angles. You still have the paper sheet, but it seems to knock most of it down.
-For a personal test try it with and without setting up as you would need to read lyrics tracking a vocal. Way easy to hear as you stand at the mic.
