Question 1/2 Pancake

Okay, so I have about 12 empty 1/2 inch ampex reels from 1998 or so. How easy are pancakes to transfer to reels. I've heard that if mess up just a little, it's all over!!

If the empty reels are the 3 screw type and so are the pancakes [their hub] then it's easy. You just unscrew the flanges and mount them on the pancake.
