Yamaha KX-670 Cassette Deck

I've been looking for a replacement cassette deck since my Akai GXC-704D is broken beyond cost-effective repair. I found an ad for a Yamaha KX-670 deck in the local paper, $75. It seems like a quality deck. Three heads, bias adjustment, 'closed loop dual capstan'...

Has anyone had experience with this deck, or Yamaha decks in general? Would it perform well in a studio setting?

not Yamaha cassette decks, but I have had excellent results from anything I've owned with the Yamaha name on it. What era cassette deck is it?

It was released in 1994 at an MSRP of $500 USD, that's all I really know.
