Where to learn about guitar electronics?

Lately, I've been getting into cleaning up & setting up guitars, and I'd like to learn more! I feel like the next logical step is to get more into the electronics. I've replaced a few pickups with decent success, but I'd like to get further into hot-rodding with coil-tapping and tone shaping, but I don't really know much about the theory and electronics behind it.

Are there any great informational sites I could check out? I'm not at all opposed to getting a book, but I'm pretty short on cash. I know books usually have much more, and better information. My google searches seem to indicate that most online sources are essentially simple primers and don't go very far into details. I've done my best to teach myself the basics of electricity, but there's a lot of conflicting and poorly-worded information out there. So if anyone's aware of any great sites for understanding electricity and magnetism, that'd be sweet too

Google search got this. Might be what you're looking for.

And I've got an older edition of this which is pretty good for repair type stuff.

Stewart Macdonald has a lot of info.

Buy a few pots, and capicitors of different values, and experiment with them. The cause, and effect of changing components can give you great insight into tone shaping.
