im using cubase and for some reason audacity works fine with my computers line in for recording, but i cant seem how to change it in cubase.

a friend told me i need to do it through windows sound preferences so i did, its set to input and the little audio thing shows up as my guitar playing and the waves going up and down, but when i click record it wont record any sound and the audio thing then wont play the sound anymore! :S

it needs to be setup in cubase... all accomplished under the devices tab... and well documented in the manual....
