Black Mammoth Part II
This song is different from the original however it still has enough of the original to call it Part II...song is short...just under 2 minutes long.
Its been a while since I posted a song...been working on getting a better sound and recording quality...Some parts of this song still need some filler because it feels a bit empty in spots...also need to check mix near end of solo...kind of hear a thud or two...not sure if its the drums or perhaps i forgot to remove part of a track...not sure. My Recording setup is as follows. Epiphone Les Paul>>>Electro Harmonix Metal Muff>>>M Audio Fast Track>>>Amplitube 2>>>Addictive Drums Demo>>>Mixcraft 4 Dmusic is finally up and running properly so Im posting the tune on there for now...click on Hi. http://travtale.dmusic.com/ |

Good recording/performance!
Mix seems suffering from a lack of mid frequencies (700 hz ,wide "q") and something around 100 hz to help with the "meat" of lows. Gain on 100hz with a cut on the lows of bass guitar (around 60hz, the "boomy thing")can give you a more balanced bass region. Even with that eq, Bass Drum needs a little more definition (IMO) in the lows;maybe a general gain (on a re-mix)which can improve some mid/hi "kick" too,but who knows...). Snare needs more "impact" /attack. You probably will receive some good advices from people with bigger monitors /sub woofer. Thanks for the input...I played this song on an mp3 player and it appears to have to much bottom end and not enough mids.
Hopefully my next practice project will sound better...just trying to improve recording quality right now...I bought a compressor so Im hoping that will help in regards to my guitar tracks on my next song which Im working on now. Thanks for the help. |

This kind of improvements (specially bass traps)are much more noticiable than a new comp or pre (altough, as a guitarrist, I understand you perfectly) ![]() Ciro www.soundclick.com/openstation Last edited by CIRO; 05-28-2008 at 00:11.. |

Nice performance -- but I agree that the guitar sound needs a crank to the midrange knob more than it needs a compressor

Yeps.
The guitar leads are very nice. The overall composition is something in Stoner-country? ![]() Yes, the guitarsound is scooped to the Max! ![]() Nice tune.
