New song (corny chorus) 1st time recording

I know the chorus is pretty corny but what do you guys thing of the overall song. But before I give you the link the only equipments used is a $100 condenser and a $50 mixer into a stock soundcard. What do you guys think of the song and the mxing etc. Thanks

Good mix I guess...I dunno about the beat. For a first time recording it's pretty good.

I'll tell you what!

I think the song was pretty good!

I absolutely LOVE your concept on "Dear Lord"...........I'm use to dog T-pain, but I see many other cats following suit. Are you using Autotune or is that Melodyne? I have Melodyne and I love it!
I just hate when dudes over saturate their music with that sound!
Stick around, collabo's should be kicking off pretty soon!

I'll have to agree with Phys, I'm not sure that the beat fits the style of song you're looking for.

I like the way it's mixed, it fits well in the instrumental. All I use is Software so it's a bit difficult to get the same sound you got out of it. But, I'll have to ask, what mic did you use? well, what vocal recording equip. did you use? I'm looking for a decent mic that's direct connect via usb, or an adapter so that I can record my stuff and make it not sound like crap.

I don't think the chorus is too bad, it fits what you're going after, it's got good emotion to it as well.

Good mix overall.

Yo!
I wouldn't settle for that usb type joint you're talking about. I have a couple of counterparts who went that route and their blood pressure shot up. In my opinion, I don't think Homerecording was ever meant to go that route, although we have made strides of convenience. (Mic wise!) I know that technology has advanced and that has allowed us to do much of what we do from the convenience of our own crib. But.............it seems to me that it would be too indirect as far as latency and realtime. (I am probably wrong!!!) But I am very old school. That is why I mix up hardware and software. Hell, I'm still waiting for flat tops to come back!
I just hope you did your homework and you are not just settling for a cheap mic setup. That could only set you back! Just my (2) $0.01's.....

I don't know what I'd need for a good mic setup. Truly I can create beats with just software and be set to go. It's the recording era that sets me back, since I have a 50 dollar USB Condensor Microphone. It sucks, as you can probably tell from my recordings if you've heard any.

Where can I look to see what I need to get, to have a good recording session to make it sound studio quality, other than a booth. What Mic? What Hardware? Software?
