Hey -

I have a couple questions for all the rap/hip-hop gurus on here.

1) Are most of you making beats with fruity loops? If not, what are you using?

2) Can anybody point me to a good tutorial video for someone just starting out with fruity loops?

Thanks in advance!

Pretty good mix, vocals come up clear. The dude kinda sounds like eminem...except without the same intensity.

Thanks! I think that was the fastest feedback I've ever seen!

I like FL studio its very simplistic and if you are just starting its the best to learn on. That program can do so much and most of what you will be wanting to do at the beginning it will help with.

I tried moving on to Ableton, but I always come back to FL. I've been using it for 7 years now, so I think I've pretty much got it figured out. lol

FL catches a bad rap, IMO.

Here's a Biggie Remix I made with FL3.4 about 5 years ago. I've come a little further in production skills since then.

FL studio is an excellent program to start out on yo. I actually started out playing keyboards/piano, then moved to FL Studio(clicking), then FL Studio with Keyboard thru Midi, then Triton, etc. FL gets a bad rap because folks will go out and buy it and call themselves a producer immediately. People don't say it, but it's really the same with hardware. If you are not a producer and you buy hardware, you're still not a producer!! It's the talent that gets you there. Make heat with FL Studio and disregard people who may hate bro. I still use FL every once and a while, but i mostly use Triton Le/Sonar/Roland Jv-35/Yamaha Psr-540/live instruments.
