Phase change

ok, since I don't have headphones, I just used speakers to play drums to a refrence track, how can I "phase change" out the reference track from the drum tracks?

thanks

You have to play the reference track through the speakers and record all the drum mics again without you playing drums. Reverse the phase of those tracks and mix them at equal level to the actual drum tracks.

Here is where you will run into a snag: As soon as you EQ and compress the real drum tracks, this whole thing falls apart.

So, what you will have to do is set up a bunch of group channels (one for each drum channel) and route each drum track to a group channel along with it's drumless counterpart. Use the group channels to apply the EQ and compression for the mix.

Headphones aren't that expensive, they are a lot easier.
