Weird!

We just got a new (used) Mac for the studio. We were running an iMac which we had configured very well running MP PT 7.1. Well, installed the new computer and everything seemed fine on it until we installed PT. All of a sudden the mouse loses communication with the computer constantly, sessions will open but no transport control, sessions will open with absolutely no control (mouse or transport) but we can keyboard to close the session. Then, I'll open a session and everything works fine for a spell. Then back to it freaking out. Any ideas?????

Mac Dual 2.6Ghz PPC
Tiger 10.4.6
MP PT 7.1
ProjectMix I/O

Trashed preferences. Nope.
Adjusted HW buffer. Nope.
Switched to single processer. Nope.

Noticed something yesterday. When just sitting there idling in PT, the channel display on the Project Mix would blank out for a second and I could actually hear something change in the Tower. (Fan Speed Maybe?) Then back to normal. I'm begining to think we have a FW issue here. Maybe a bad card?
