Inverters/ups sytems.

Inspired by a recent thread, thought I'd get some help here. I've been planning to install an inverter to get the studio off the grid, especially during storm season. I have a 1500 Watt modified sine inverter, will this be sufficient, or do I need to go with a pure sine inverter.

Should be fine, I'd expect, assuming that's enough wattage for all your gear. If you try it and you hear 60 Hz buzzing, you'll know that it isn't sufficient (and/or that you should get gear with better filter caps in the power supply.... )
