Control surface and midi

Not sure if this is the right forum to post this, but the control surface runs off midi.

I have a Mixed logic M24 Control surface. I use an M-audio Midisport to connect via USB to my computer. Audio in run through a Lynx Aurora 16 and AES 16 PCI card. Only one channel is being used.

Every time I use a channel select button on the control surface it locks up my computer, forcing me to re-boot. Sometimes it will happen with moving faders, sometimes panning but it happens constantly.

I have contacted Mixed Logic and they assure me I have the proper drivers. I have the latest drivers for the Lynx as well. I use a Duo core machine and 4 gigs of Ram running minimal audio. Most of the time my CPU usage (As viewed in Sonar 7) runs around 12-16%.

The only other midi I use is BFD within Sonar.

From the reaction to it, it sounds like a midi loop problem. Don't know how you've got your midi software configured, but try disabling software midi outs. Use the control surface midi out to software midi in ONLY.
