Having the time of my life! Gearbox GOLD!

"Yes, it's true, dear, I bought another modeler. But this one was like, a third of what I paid for those others."

"But don't you already have, like, 3 of those things?"

"5 actually, but this one is the nut!"

"Right....what makes this one any better?"

"Well, first off, it came with this little box called an interface where you just plug your guitar in, fire up the app and start playing right through the USB port. But more importantly, it's got a Big Volume Knob on it which can actually control my fancy powered speakers!"

"Whoopie......"

"No honey, you don't get it, I can finally chuck this big ol'e mixer if I want. I now have the best external soundcard my laptop's ever seen. Hell, I don't really even need the big computer anymore!"

"So your saying this one little box eliminates the need for all this other junk in here?"

"Well.............maybe? Besides! Listen to this Dumble!!! BABY! (Boing, bink, branngggggg)"

"(shakes head while leaving room)Whatever, as long as it makes you happy."

I think it's the best $150 I ever spent. Yes, you do need a computer, but my laptop is up to the task. The DI box has guitar in, guitar out(Run this to an amp, or to another interface for dry guitar signal), RT and LFT 1/4" outs, headphone, and one volume knob which controls volume out. I can hook up powered speakers without the need for anything else. It operates like an external sound card as far as your computer is concerned. The gearbox software (gold edition) has tons of amps and effects. This is not my first software guitar rig, but for the price, this thing is pretty amazing.
