Midi controller advice? Looking for 88 keys weighted but not trying to spend a lot.

Any advice here? I've been using an old casio keyboard for a bit as a midi controller, but I just can't get used to the plastic feel of these cheap keys. I want to step up to an 88 key fully weighted controller, but price is tight, i'd like to spend $300 at the most, less if possible.

Any recommendations? I found a discontinued model of a cme with 88 weighted and some cool control surface features for $300, so I might just go with that, but what else is out there? I've looked into the usual suspects, m-audio (which I haven't heard great things about), korg... but they aren't quite affordable enough for me!

I would recommend the studiologic SL-990, about 300 I believe, great action.

i agree with the fatar studiologic, also you can look for used 88 key boards anything with midi as most will have it. stay away from the p80 yamaha as the action on those was plagued with problems. Try pc88, qs8 or qs8.1, also the m-audio prokeys 88 and so on

I use a Studiologic controller i my studio. I love it as a DAW keyboard controller. You should note though that it has no control surface functionality. It is a keyboard - a very good keyboard - but just a keyboard.

That's exactly what I want!! When I'm playing a piano, I want it to feel like a piano. Nothing more, nothing less.
