Confused about SysEx Data

I have an Alesis QS6.1, DM5 and a DSP1000 Virtualizer Pro. I am using Cakewalk 9, I have QSEditor Pro from Soundtower, and I am attempting to use Soundbridge. I believe saving SysEx data/banks is at the root of the answer to my problem, BUT, I don't think I'm quite understanding what I am doing. When I lay down midi tracks in cakewalk I save all the programs I use for that particular song as a mix to an SRAM card. I think I want to save sys ex data in my cakewalk songs. But, I noticed that when I open some of the default songs in cakewalk a screen pops up and asks if I want to send sys ex data to my midi gear. I can't seem to get that to happen. My questions:

1) What data is being sent to my midi gear?
2) Is this something I would want to do with my songs?
3) Do I need to move my banks from my SRAM card to the user bank before I attempt SysEx data?

I have reviewed the online documentation with cakewalk. It talks about a button in SysEx view to receive data. I don't have it. All though the manual explains how to still send SysEx to Cakewalk. I geuss I just don't know what to expect. Maybe I need to post this question in the Cakewalk Forum...

Ok, I will check that. Cakewalk's help file didn't help too much, but on the cd there was a manual, it provided some guidance but it didn't actually answer my question... I'm going to email cakewalk and ask them...

I do have some other questions, though.

I plan to take my songs to a studio that uses Cubase. What I am trying to do is avoid lugging my whole computer station to the studio. Now, when I save my songs as .mid I can save them as sequences to SRAM cards. (I'm still trying to figure that out). Is it possible to play the tracks of the sequence individually so I can record track by track at the studio. Or is the sequence on block of data? And what about the the .wav (the audio data) on the FlashRam cards. Do those act like other QS6.1 programs - you play a key and the sample plays. Would this be advisable to take to a studio? Or would it be better to just haul my workstation to the studio. And how do I trigger my DM5 and DSP1000? I think that's why I am trying to figure out the SysEx data/bank stuff. For all I know, they are not even related issues. Once again I appreciate the help.
