skipping ?
Hi All, I'm haveing this skipping or jumping in my recording and could use some help please.
I'M using my Dell laptop specs= 1.6ghz dual core 1gb mem 80 gb hard drive 5400 rpm windows XP interface = Firepod Im using the on board firewire port and cubase se The sound is great but I get these jumps or speedups randomly thanks for your help |

Sounds like latency problems to me.
Things to check - what are your soundcard latency settings? Are you recording at 16, 24 or 32-bit? How many tracks/plugins are you using? Have you done the various PC tweaks which allegedly speed up or streamline operations? Think that'll do for now. Have a look at all that (all solutions findable on the net or in the manuals) and let us know how you go.

It may be that your hard drive isn't fast enough, they really should spin at 7200 rpm.
