Keyboard practice amp?

Can anyone recommend me one in the $250-$350 range?

Or is it possible that I can connect my studio monitors to the keyboard? I'm planning on getting an Alesis Micron, but don't know what to expect in turns of onboard speaker volume.

I have some nice computer speakers, with woofer, and hooked it up to my Triton Extreme, and it sounds great!! I was surprised it would sound so good. I just ran the speaker into the headphone jack. I had to get a 1/4 inch stereo adaptor to plug into the keyboard, then the computer speakers plugged right in. Now this is just for me playing in my studio, not intended to project in a band.

Ah, good idea. I'll forego the practice amp and just use my studio monitors. I just need 1/4 to XLR or 1/4 to TRS then.

Yo Mellow:

You can use "cans" for practice. You can also record direct from keyboard to recorder in many instances. Depends on your gear.

I can record stuff at 3AM and not bother my condo neighbor. It's all in the cans. However, I do need to "hear" the tracks to mix and master.

Happy Spring, wherever it is!
