If you guys haven't checked out the Cakewalk Sonar Newsgroup, you should do so. Lots of activity. Some really knowledgeable guys (including some of the Cakewalk tech support people). It's called product.sonar, and I believe you can get instructions for signing on to it from the Cakewalk site.

BTW, any of you guys know what happened to the pencil tool that was in the CW PA9 audio view. I found this tool very handy for editing out unwanted sounds, such as breath noises, etc. Can't seem to find an equivalent in Sonar. Not even an "insert silence" command. How do you get rid of unwanted stuff, short of cutting it out. And now that I think of it, the scissors tool is gone too. The tool that allowed you to cut a clip into pieces. I must be missing something. They couldn't have removed both of those tools. Any help here?

I got one of the questions answered. No sissors tool, but if you place the cursor at the point you want to split the clip and press "s", it accomplishes the same thing. This is acceptable to me... but still can't find an equivalent to the pencil tool.

The suggestion I got was to use a volume envelope instead - but this seems to me to be a poor workaround.
