Taxi.com
Anyone here ever use taxi.com for pushing your own music (regardless of category or genre)?
I've been looking at their site. I have a friend that has had a close call with getting his work used in commercials. One of his closer friends submits music regularly. I would love more input on their site and service. Thanks, jimbo

Tried them quite a few years ago, more for the critiques than the opporunity to have my music used. I was not overly impressed.
I had a number of tracks forwarded, but there were also quite a few occasions where the written critiques seemed like the person either wasn't familiar with the style of music or that the description of what they wanted was way off. On at least one occasion, it was obvious that the 'critique-er' had not been listening/paying attention. I wrote a nasty letter and got an apologetic phone call from the VP, so I'll give them credit for that. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it -- at the time, it was something like $199, plus per-song submission fees. I'm sure there are better/less expensive options these days. The Web was not what it is today back when I used them... |
