300 bucks...

I've got 300$ dollars to spend on equipment. Have an acoustic in pretty much every song but no acoustic amp. I was thinking of getting a cheap acoustic amp http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHACX1800 but am pretty suspicious of the quality. Behrinngers are obviously not top notch but neither is my budget. Would this be a good investment? I also need a couple of good vocal mics but getting an amp is more urgent. If it isn't worth it,' i'll go with the mics and keep running my acoustic through a mediocre fender electric combo.

Not sure about your situation, but if there is a PA in the equation, skip the amp and mic the guitar, and run it direct. Ditto if you're talking about home recording.

For home recording I use 1 or 2 condenser mics for acoustic instruments, for live performance I plug into the PA or use a direct box with a piezo pickup. Either way works well and I don't have to carry an extra amp. A guitar amp isn't voiced for an acoustic guitar and will sound very "boxy" and unnatural....

guess i could have been more specific. What i want to know is if an acoustic amp sounds significantly better for an acoustic then an elecric amp

In a word, yes. Amp'ed acoustic guitar through an amp designed for electric guitar almost always sounds terrible.

I play an Acoustic-electric Classical with a Piezoelectric pickup through a bass amp sometimes.

Am I a heretic?

That amp looks pretty nice, but I'd try a few others in that range before I was sold on it. I think there's a Marshall in about the 350$, don't know how respected their acoustic amps are.
