How would I record drums with a Firebox?

Am I stuck with only using two mics, or could I run it through a mixer? Man, I should've just gotten a Firestudio. Didn't think about whether I'd anticipate wanting to get a drumset. Could I possibly get away with two mics in an X/Y config?

I think you should be able to get a semi decent sound with two overheads. Or maybe try one overhead and something on the kick.

Experimentation is your friend.

the firebox can do upto 6 inputs. i only know how to use 4 though. the 2 line ins on the back can be turned on in cubase. go to devices then vst inputs on move the menu down and turn on 3 and 4. then youll have to get some preamps but then your have 4 inputs. i had to do this every time i opened cubase, but definately worth it for drums. left and right overheads, kick, and snare.

If you have no luck with that I've had some really nice results using the Recorderman Method. Just two overheads:
