Sampler help

Ok maybe this should be in the newbiw section but Ill ask here....lets say for example I got a sampler like an MPC......then I would need a midi controller\keyboard, right. I want to use mostly the sampled sounds I think and not the canned ones on the keyboard so in that case does it matter the quality of the midi controller....i plan to record on a mac....

obviously the gist of this is can I get away with saving some money on the midi controller

If you just want it to control the MPC then it doesn't matter what keyboard you get, as long as it has decent MIDI.
