This a great idea! Man, I wish I had my new stuff recorded... well, I'll give you a link to my page, anyway. There are 4 songs here - I think "This Tree and Me" really has potential. I dunno - any feedback is appreciated . What about your stuff, DAS?

I couldn't say which. I don't think any are particularly great but I'm also unable to remove myself far enough from what I'm currently doing to be honest either.
Now, if you could tell me I'd have a better idea.

Heh, when I first read that post, I thought you were talking about *my* songs (the post above yours). I'm assuming you're talking about your own, though...

I really like Gimli's Lament - All your stuff sounds really professional - great recording

tree and me has a good feel to it-but it sounds like the guitar is closer than the vocals
ithink it would be better with the vocals feeling closer you`ll have to ask somebody else how to do this though

himynameisbuddy,
Cool song - the intro's a little long though - unless you add a little lead lick or keyboard or something - even a whistle or hum of the theme.
There's a bit of bass boommin the guitar but, given the sparse accompaniment, it works. maybe a glock behiind the chorus?
Good good good.
Oh, lyrics are pretty spot on.
Post it in the MP3 Clinic for some excellent mixing/recording tips.

So the one's in my signature are no longer my best. Sorry.

Hey Buddy great songs

This tree and me – this is a great analogue for a relationship with some great imagery
Lake of mistakes; water with champagne; this tree and me would (wood) need to bleed really resonate.
I know the truth – drums down (particular cymbals) – vocals up – your voice is getting drowned out in this mix – possible a bit more compression on the bass could even out some of its ‘arrivals’ – not quite as catchy but I really like the arrangement
Fading Fast – love the lofi piano riff

Have you overdub on these or is that the bass player – if its you you’ve got a whole lower range you need to explore – if it isn’t then your voices really compliment well and you should do more

Rayc – I’m sure you’ve heard it before but you sound like Jimmy Little – if your from the Gong I know you’ll know who I’m talking about.

I love the ‘lament’ the strings are beautiful and the arrangement is wild sort of a fugue fell to it as it descends.

I have been on this forum for about 18ms and this is the first time I have posted up actual finished songs – pls feel free to take them apart – they are preliminary mixes/arrangements done on GarageBand for headphones – no monitors pls, I hope to start recording properly in the next few months on my Korg 32 track.

'Flowers sent to herself' and 'Unnoticeable you' are 2 of my favourites at the moment, but some of you might recognise Broken Universe and Autumn Leaves as lyrics I have posted in the past.

Would value any feedback on any of them (Black Dog and Smell of Betrayal -old songs wont make the cut)

This is a song I wrote about a year back and then pulled it out, changed a few things, threw it together, and took to a engineer to master.

Hope you like... it's called Falling.

I listened to Montana and liked the smooth easy feel the song had to it. I didn't see the song Crazy listed in your player though.

I'm a big fan of the seagull intro with the instruments charging in all at once. I also like the way you keep the vox up front over the rhythm section. Nice tune.

I don't know which one I would consider my best. This is a song where I got a lot of good feedback. It's the kind of song that wrote itself and I didn't really know how it was going to sound until I was done.

I have had the pleasure of listening to your songs before. You've got a great catalog. Is this you singing? Great voice. Well arranged songs, it comes across that you put a lot of thought into the production. You do all this in Garage Band?

Cheers,

Thumbs up music

Hey,

I just found this site, but it looks like it can be incredibly helpful.

At any rate, we recorded our debut CD at "Unconventional Studios"
i.e. my basement.

So give a listen, the whole album was independently recorded and mixed there, so any advice would be great. I think that either the Chicken Song or Dr. Millionaire are the best recorded, but i would love to hear what others think or can critique me on.

By the way, it is like grindcore/death metal
