I'm assuming this is really bad for accustics, what to do? (Pics inside)

I am rearranging some things and with the space i have, i really can't do anything differently. If you can't see the pictures clearly, i have two desks with basically a big whole between them. I plan on putting a small table there, or even a large shelf. I am concerned that having that big empty space in a corner will do nothing but bad things.

What are my options (that are cheap). I really can't afford to throw a large bass trap or anything right there. I was thinking about making a small box and filling it with old pillows and blankets. Good idea? Bad idea?

Let me know.

Here are the pictures of what i'm talking about (excuse the mess, i'm in the process of rearranging)

You can cut pieces of 2'X4'X4"(or 2") rockwool (like the ones you have behind the monitors)in small 16 (triangular)pieces, making a little superchunk.

Yeah, see, i just can't afford that. Right now i put the desk back against the wall and just stand to use the keyboard to chop up samples, then i can play it once i'm done sitting down. I put some things under it for storage which is probably much better than how it was.

newatthis-i can try, my room is soo messy from moving everything around right now so i didn't want to post . Like i said, above, i moved that desk back into the corner though so it won't be as easy to visualize.
