What is my Otari MX5050 MKIII worth?
I have been having the hardest time finding out how much my old Otari is worth. It is in excellent condition, recently serviced, and has a new pinch roller. It also has the remote locater, a stand on wheels, and all the owner and service manuals. I know these machines will vary immensely in value by the condition of it's parts, but I am just looking for a range of value from a machine in poor condition to a machine in fantastic condition like mine, or better than mine. It is the Otari MX5050 mkIII, 8-track, 1/2" tape machine. It sounds sweet as ever. Thanks for your help.

Hi ya, cant give you an accurate costing but I can give you an idea given what I paid for mine. The guy was asking $2000.00 for the deck (in great condition) without a controller. I just paid $120.00 for a controller without a cable. I have recently seen the cables going for around $250.00. This is all in Aus $$. Personally I think it is hard to put a price on such a fine precision made machine. Hope this helps.
