Unhappy Delta 1010LT Driver Update went badly. Any help would be appreciated.

I purchased a lightscribe capable CD/DVD burner this week. The unit was bundled with NERO 7. After installing it and realizing that NERO is a HUGE resoure hog, I deleted it. After deleting, it scragged all three of my audio card divers (1 each SoundBlaster and 2 each Delta1010 LT). I reinstalled my SounBlaster Drivers which recoved the use of that card however, when I attempted the same for my Delta1010 LTs...not such a positive turn out.

I deleted the card from my hardware manager, uninstalled the Delta apps then followed up by cleaning out the remaining folder. After that, I ran Registry Mechanic just to be sure it was all clean then followed up with a reboot.

Upon reboot, the system "realized new hardware" in the form of a "multi-media audio controller". I went to the M-Audio website, downloaded the latest Delta1010 LT drivers and performed the install. Still no joy.

Currently, I have in my hardware device manager under "Other devices" a "?! Multimedia Audio Controller" and under "Sound, video and game controllers" a "Delta 1010LT". When I open my Delta Control Panel, no audio cards are found. In the device driver under the Delta Card, the "general tab" it states that this device cannot start (Code 10).

Anyone with any ideas? I've deleted the card several time...several, I've also downloaded and installed several older driver version just to be sure that it wasn't a problem with the latest release. I sure would like to get this back up and running.

I have sent emails to M-Audio and no responses so far and currently even yet while I type, I've been on hold/in-que with on the support line (for about 1 Hr., 15 minutes now).

try this goto you device manager disable both the 1010 cards.
install the latest drivers
reboot the pc
undisable the audio cards one at a time, windows should find them and install the drivers.
then reboot
then do the other

i say this because you are ment to install the drivers before fitting the cards to the pc

Bingo!

I tried your idea but it seemed to go "half-way". The cards were redisovered but still a dis-association with the drivers. I couldn't point them to the new drivers. Your idea inspired me to try one more thing.

Here's what I did;

Uninstalled "Delta" from the Add-Remove Programs
From hardware manager un-installed the cards
Powered down the PC
Removed the cards
Rebooted the PC
Reinstalled the Delta Drivers
Powered down the PC
Reinstalled the cards

And WOO-HOO! I'm back up and running!

I was getting nervous...M-Audio tech support is only open Mon-Fri and I was betting they'd be lightly staffed (IF at all between Christmas and New Years). I've got a couple session parties this weekend and I was really sweating it!

Man, again, thanks for the support on this one

Thanks for the shout back! THanks!
