Okay here's what you do...forget that venue. Too offensive? what a deuche. Most club owners only care that people come in and buy booze...they could care less if it's a guy jacking off a dog for an hour.
Don't clean up your music. Ever. It's how you intended it, and people can go fuck themselves if they lack the brain power to comprehend something that might not be right in their comfort zone. There are other clubs. I doubt you'll get that much. My band has pretty offensive music and we've never really run into problems...granted, we're not trying to get into like...a conservative club or anything lol... Where do you live? I'm sure there are some venues that regularly have things like punk bands and metal bands. If not, just book your own shows (it's sometimes more rewarding that way, anyway... people who book shows are often quick to screw over bands, rarely do what they say they'll do, etc..) Don't worry about it, anyway...if there's an audience for the music, there will be club owners wanting it in their establishment. . . Unless you're like Extreme Elvis or something shoving mics up his ass, shitting on stage and jerking off into the crowd... you might not get asked back lol. |

What kind of offensive material??
Usually I also never have that problem really, but I also watch what we perform though. If he's telling you no now, he was going to tell you no when you walked into the door. Just keep at it. I sent you a couple venues, and a site through PM. Didn't know what part of VA your from exactly.

Quote:
here below is what he said - "After the first few lines of the song when I brought up the webpage were "Fuck ya'll ******s" I was offended. Sorry but the racist crap is not allowed nor will it ever be allowed to be associated with my promotional company. What really fries me is that blacks play the racist card when they are called that by a white person but it's OK if a black person does it. Don't think so." -- well i guess he told me - and normally i dont really use the n-word - but after careful consideration - im like - u know somethin, i meant every word of that song1!!! i meant it just how i said it!!! again, i told the promoter that the song would be "clean" if it was going to be performed - i always perform clean - whether i record it that way or not and this is what he said: Tell your "artist" that he needs to wash his mouth out with soap and rethink his "lyrics". Real artists don't need to use the language. Real artists have actual talent and don't have to call each other ******s, ho's and bitches. Cussing and using the ****** label is a low class, no talent way of selling garbage records. I am extremely offended and disgusted by what I heard and I hope many more people are so this kind of trash is put where it belongs.....in the garbage dump!" aww phuck it! |

I gotta agree with pretty much everything he said.
Sorry. I surely wouldn't be offended if I were him, but I still agree with what he says.Just find a different place to go to... |
