Hey Greg, Fuck you....
...'cause I can do covers, too.
![]() I don't know if this is finished. The Beatles end it with a weird bass and "sleepy" slide thing, which I wasn't going to do. But it sounds incomplete this way, too...So maybe I'll just join it with another song one day. Anyway, I recorded and mixed this in 2 days, so my ears are probably shot. One listen, I think the vocals are too loud, next listen, I can't hear them. Same with the drums. So any mix help would be appreciated. Thanx. GLASS ONION Last edited by RAMI; 12-15-2007 at 18:35.. |

Nice work RAMI. The only little nit pick that I could pick out is the hi-hat is a little up front.....to my ears! The guitars sound pretty good, a little more presence maybe???
I love the snare sound RAMI! Good work! ![]()

nice version of the song Rami
well done. the vocals sound like they could come up just a bit, but i can hear all the words so maybe not. it's just that sometimes it seems the guitars overpower the voice.

Lol. How can I resist a thread title like this?
![]() I don't know the song, but it definitely sounds Beatle-ish. Vocals can come up just a hair, but not much. Maybe, barely, the hats may be too loud. Everything else sounds awesome. I like the abrupt ending. Great job. Sounds very clean and precise. ![]()

The only thing I'd suggest is on just 1 longish slide that you pan it across the image.
I like the vocal level. The ending - I'd cut after glass so that it really hangs. Is RAMI Is good! |

Not familiar with the original so I can't compare in that regard.
I had to pull up Wikipedia to find out who did this - some cool trivia on it although Wiki is not always 100% accurate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glass_Onion This mix is great as always. Super tight playing and vocals. Nice drums and bass. The slide is more apparent listening to this one and you've got it down. Nice slide tone and intonation. Question - did you buy a new guitar for slide or use an existing and retune it? Yes, you can do covers very well as shown here and on No More Mr Nice Guy..... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Fuck you Rami.... ![]()

Great job...vox level is OK but sometimes guitar sucks all the air out of the mix. Maybe back off a little and pan harder to give up some space. Hard to tell on my PC spkrs tho.

The "WHITE" album was the one i enjoyed discovering most as a kid. There's so much in there - imagine psychotic little me immersed in #9!
Glass onion always stood out - a bit like Savoy Truffle - the surrealist images of the titles do it from the beginning. Oh, your version you ask? It's a credit to you. Slide in standard tuning without any detune effects - WOW. I can do covers too! Check this out http://www.homerecording.com/bbs/sho...d.php?t=255091 Last edited by rayc; 12-22-2007 at 19:47.. Interesting take on this. One of my favorites from the album, well done. A bit harder rocking than the original. Nice production values. The only thing I miss is the recorder lick after the fool on the hill lyrics
Very cool.![]()

Nice job. From the White Album IIRC. As noted, the bass and drums are working real nice together. Good mix. Nothing to nitpick here in my book.
I usually don't like covers of Lennon, since his voice is so unique. But you cover this well, without really sounding like him. Good effects on the vox as well. BTW, I like the ending this way. ![]() |

Rami...
Very good job! I like the extended intro, nice build up to the verse. Excellent "Oh Yeah's" - specially the third one -very Lennonesque. I like the abrupt ending.

Awesome. I agree that the hi hat is a little up front. The ending is more abrupt than maybe I would like, especially with the opportunity for a killer lead there.
