As the titile says, I would like to know if there are ny decent websites out there that are pretty good with telling how to use Cakewalk and the aspects of it.

Thanks!

The Cakewalk Website itself has a lot of technical support... regarding various aspects of midi and audio recording and some of the specifics of Cake. Plus, Cake has been around a long time and has a lot of users, so there are some user sites/bbs like this one. It comes with a decent manual as well. Scott Garrigus has a book out called "Cakewalk Power" that can help the beginner-intermediate user. He also sends out a monthly (or so) e-mail news gram with info about recording that often involves Cakewalk and.or Sound Forge. His e-mail would be on their web site.

Finally, a Cake (and other big name programs) are pretty complex and involve understanding midi, audio, effects, mixing, syncing, etc. etc. to use ALL their power. You may not need it all, but it is there. So doing general reading on these topics may help.

I am not sure where you are in the process (beginner to expert), but I have found Cake to be a good tool for me. Hope this helps... take care.

Talking Tutorial and Book.

I agree with rjt, the Cakewalk Power book is really great as is the manual. There's a tutorial with SONAR that's pretty good, I assume the Pro Audio tutorials were equally well done.

Then of course, there always this forum!

There was just another post asking this same question maybe three days ago? Bunch of links in that thread. Do a search or scroll down the window...

links and The Cakewalk Power book

not quit up to par yet, but has potential....

The updated cakewalk book will be out in about 2 months, same author, and will include 2 additional chapters on Sonar, although the majority of it will remain the same... I suggest waiting on the book til the revised edition comes out.
